Our culture is one of materialism. None of us would probably argue that point. Such a culture provides challenges for Christian parents in developing child rearing practices promoting principles of generosity, looking to the needs of others, humility, and a lack of greediness.
I've witnessed students at the school who demonstrate the above Christian qualities and those who very much embrace materialism: give me, give me, give me.
If you have ideas that you find work with your children, please post them here. If you have questions of other parents, also post these here and another parent may have an answer.
